"It has been published in Diário da República, "Portaria n.º 39/2016", on the 7th of March, that the fees payable by the issuance of energy certification for buildings will cost less.

From now on, the energy certification of buildings for housing goals will cost 28 euros in the case of 0 bedroom houses and 1 bedroom houses, and 40,50 euros in the case of intermediate types, 2 bedroom houses and 3 bedroom houses. The rates applied to other types of houses remain unchanged, with values between 55 and 65 euros. It´s also reduced the fee, due to the issue of the energy certificate of trade buildings and smaller services (floor area not exceeding 250 m2) which will cost 135 euros.

Since the publication of Decree-Law No. 118/2013, the Energy Certification of Buildings is mandatory from the moment the buildings are placed on the market for sale or rent, with the certification of the information to be provided to the buyer or renter .

This ordinance aims to "make the adaptation of the values of the registration fees of pre-certified and SCE certificates´ in the sense of" a closer pricing policy to citizens´ and ´enhanced energy efficiency policy. " This strategy, "seeks to be a priority to properties with lower types, in order to benefit families with lower incomes and small and medium-sized companies."
