Golden Visas recovering : 89 millions in february

In february, the Golden Visa program has registered 144 autorizations of residency which represented 89 million euros of new investments. 91% (81 million eur.) destinated to real estate businesses. It´s the best performance in the last 15 months (since november of 2014).

In the last three months the captured investment represents 187 million eur. (annual growth of 17%), through 304 permit of residency (growth of 14%). Until now, the Golden Visa Program drained to Portugal 1,8 thousand million eur. fitting 90% to real estate market.


CHINESE LEAD

By nationalities, there is the allocation of permits to 97 Chinese citizens, 13 Brazilians, five Russian and 29 of other nationalities. Since the program began, the number of the authorizations granted is about 2345. The Chinese citizens lead with a share of 78%. 

The "CPCI"  (Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate) is happy with these results and notes that they prove that Portugal is strengthening its position as the best European destination for real estate investment.

The number of cases resolved "shows that are finally being overcome doubts about the bureaucratic operation of the system," it said in a statement CPCI.

The president of the CPCI, Reis Campos, saw February results as " a clear demonstration that there are no reasons that Portugal can´t set itself as one of the most desirable destinations on a global scale, for foreign investment."
